Dog Park

The Melville Off-Leash Dog Park is a recent addition to the city's recreation opportunities and was created to meet public requests for a safe space for their animals to play. The park is nestled in the Melville Regional Park amongst mature and new-growth forest. Dogs and their owners can enjoy amenities such as 6-foot chain-link fences and a secure double-gated entrance. Within the park, people can rest on the sturdy picnic tables or enjoy the 1200ft or .336km walking track around the perimeter. Finally, all guests will be able to stretch their legs playing fetch, tug, or chase in the 2 acres of open green grass.

When playing in the park, all dog owners are required to abide by the following rules to ensure everyone's safety:

  1. Dogs that show aggression towards people or other animals must be removed immediately from the park.
  2. Dogs who exhibit a history of aggressive behavior will have their privileges revoked.
